Many of our owners read this site on a phone, at a dock, in the sun. It
is built to be read there, and to keep working for screen readers,
keyboards, and anyone who needs larger type or no motion.
What this site does
Text is sized in relative units and zooms to at least 200% without
breaking. Every page has one clear heading structure. Headings over
photographs sit on a measured dark scrim, and contrast is verified
against the rendered pixels behind the letters, not assumed from a
color chart. Color is never the only way information is carried.
Keyboard and motion
Every interactive element is reachable and operable by keyboard,
with a visible focus ring. The menu works without JavaScript: it
simply stays open. If your system asks for reduced motion, the site
stops animating entirely.
Images and video
Photographs carry descriptions of what is actually in the frame:
which boat, which crew, which job. There is no autoplaying video
with sound on this site.
Where it stands
This site targets the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG)
2.1 at Level AA. We verify with automated checks on every release,
covering contrast, heading order, image descriptions and overflow at
phone widths, and we correct what they find.
Known limitations
The contact form submits a plain request and depends on JavaScript
being enabled for the smoothest path; if it ever fails, the phone
number is published on every page and is always the fastest way to
reach a person. PDFs, if we ever publish them, may not yet meet the
same standard.
Tell us
If any page is hard to use, call
754-260-7773 or use the
contact form and describe where you got
stuck. We will fix it and, if what you needed was information, we
will read it to you on the phone.
